About Me

After a 10 year International playing career, representing The Netherlands, I moved to Peru, South America, to start my coaching career as one of Peru's National Coaches. In 2004 I came to New Zealand and worked for Waikato Badminton as Regional Coach and Director of Coaching. During this time I also started working for Badminton New Zealand which lead to being appointed as Head Coach for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. I became the full time NZ National Coach & High Performance Manager in 2007 with the Beijing Olympics being the highlight which I attended as NZ Head Coach & Manager

I'm based in Hamilton, happily married and father of a lovely daughter. I'm currently studying part-time, at Waikato University for a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. I'm really enjoying being able to share my experience with sports across New Zealand using my passion for sport in general, positive energy and desire to motivate and support others as they try to achieve their goals.
